From
its inception in 1984, The Princess Grace Irish Library in Monaco has
always sought to act as a hospitable and energetic base for Irish cultural
studies as well as the home of a distinguished collection of literary
editions. Besides its annual programme of visiting lectures and a biennal
conference series resulting in a 15-volume list of literary transactions,
the Library is now host to EIRData, an ambitious project in Irish literary
biography and bibliography which covers more than 4,500 authors.

was founded in 1969 with the chartered aims of:
Promoting the teaching and study of Irish literature in third-level education
throughout the world.
Facilitating international contact between scholars researching in the
field of Irish Literary Studies
Serving as a vehicle for bringing Irish writing to a wider audience through
conferences and publications
IASIL counts many distinguished literary critics among its members and
keenly supports interdisciplinary studies. The Association shares fully
in the current enthusiasm for Irish work in the performing arts and regularly
includes readings by living authors as well as Irish music and theatre
events plays, in its calendar. IASIL especially welcomes the growth in
Irish studies world-wide.
